At the first hearing on Wednesday, all four FERC commissioners commented on Barton's bill. <b<Several industry trade associations will testify during day two of the hearings</b<. Washington Bureau Chief Peter Cook says Rep. Barton believes the legislation will improve restructuring efforts around the country, while some <b<Democrats on the Subcommittee say the bill goes too far</b<. We'll bring you more on the debate tomorrow. <p<Peter also says the bureau will have <b<more from the first Congressional hearing into the collapse of Enron</b<. Wednesday's hearing is expected to be the first of many on the Hill dealing with the fall of Enron.
